Carole was under contract at 20th Century Fox when she made this film. The cast includes Lloyd Nolan, Cornel Wilde, Elisha Cook Jr., and James Gleason. She and Loyd Nolan also worked together in It Happened In Flatbush. Manila Calling was filmed between June 5 and July 3, 1942. It was directed by Herbert I. Leeds. The movie was released on October 16, 1942. It received mix reviews and was only a modest hit.
