Carole Landis Behind Green Lights

In 1946 Carole starred in the crime drama Behind Green Lights. She plays Janet Bradley, a murder suspect who falls for the police officer investigating her. At the time she was under contract at 20th Century Fox. The cast includes William Gargan, Richard Crane, and Mary Anderson. Carole and William Gargan has previously worked together in Turnabout and I Wake Up Screaming. Filming took place at Fox studios in Los Angeles in September of 1945. The movie was originally titled Precint 33. It was directed by Otto Bryer who sadly died from a heart attack in January of 1946. Behind Green Lights was a low budget production and Carole was not happy with the script. She would later say it was her least favorite film. It was released on February 15, 1946. The movie got mixed reviews and was a not a box-office hit.
