Carole was one of the best dressed women in Hollywood. She loved clothes and filled her closet with all the latest fashions. Her favorite designer was her close friend Don Loper. In a 1940 magazine interview she said: "I love clothes! I think there's nothing on earth like clothes. I'd like nothing better than to take all my money, every week, and blow it all on clothes." The New York Fashion Academy named her one of the best dressed screen stars in 1945.
