In 1948 Carole starred in the drama Brass Monkey (also known as The Lucky Mascot). She plays Kay Sheldon, a singer who gets mixed up with a robbery. This is one of two films she made in England. The cast includes Carroll Levis, Herbert Lom, and Terry Thomas. In the movie Carole sings "I Know Myself Too Well". One of the dresses she wears was from her Broadway show A Lady Say Yes. Brass Monkey was filmed at Twickenham Studios in London during the Fall of 1947. It was directed by Thornton Freeland. The movie was not released in the United States until 1951 - three years after her death.
