Filming took place at 20th Century Fox Studios in Los Angeles during February and March of 1942. Several scenes were filmed at Gilmore baseball field. Carole went back to her natural brown hair color for this role. Although her character doesn't like baseball she actually loved the game. It Happened In Flatbush was released on May 28, 1942. Unfortunately the film got mixed reviews and was not a box-office hit. Variety said "Miss Landis does well with her role of the socialite who acquires stock in the club."
